We collect information that you provide directly when you use Studenty, including your name, phone number, university or campus affiliation, profile information, and other information you choose to provide.
Phone Number: Studenty uses your phone number to create and secure your account, sign you in, and send one-time verification codes (via SMS) for account creation, sign-in, and password reset. Your phone number is not displayed publicly to other users.
When you choose to verify your student status using a .edu email address, we collect that email address for verification purposes.
When you create or interact with marketplace listings, we may collect information associated with those activities, such as listing details, campus selections, saved items, and messages or interactions within the platform.
Photos and Camera Access: When you create a listing, you may choose to take a photo using your device's camera or select an existing photo from your device. With your permission, Studenty may access your camera or the photos you select solely to allow you to add images to your listings. Photos you upload as part of a listing may be stored and displayed to other users as part of that listing. You can manage camera and photo permissions through your device settings.
If you contact us through the Help or Contact section of the app, we may collect your email address and the content of your message so that we can review and respond to your inquiry.
We may also automatically collect certain technical and usage information, such as device information, IP address, app activity, crash information, and interaction patterns.
We use the information we collect to operate, maintain, secure, and improve Studenty. This may include:

Certain information you choose to provide, such as your display name, profile information, campus affiliation, listings, and other marketplace-related information, may be visible to other Studenty users as necessary for the marketplace to function.
Your .edu email address used for student verification is not displayed publicly to other users.
We may share information with service providers that help us operate, secure, support, process payments for listing packs, analyze, and improve Studenty, subject to appropriate privacy and contractual protections.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, legal processes, enforce our Terms of Service, investigate fraud or security issues, or protect the rights, safety, and property of Studenty, our users, or others.
Studenty provides a platform that allows users to connect for the purpose of buying and selling items.
Studenty does not process payments between buyers and sellers for marketplace transactions and does not participate in, facilitate, or guarantee the completion of those transactions. Buyers and sellers are responsible for arranging payment and completing their transactions directly with each other.
Payments made to Studenty for features or services provided by Studenty, such as the purchase of listing packs, are separate from transactions between buyers and sellers.
Purchases of listing packs and other paid Studenty features, if offered, are processed through third-party payment processors such as Stripe.
Studenty does not store full credit or debit card numbers on its servers. Payment information submitted when purchasing a listing pack is processed by Stripe in accordance with Stripe's own privacy practices.
We may retain limited transaction information necessary to confirm purchases, provide listing credits, maintain transaction records, provide customer support, prevent fraud, and comply with applicable legal or accounting requirements.
Payments for listing packs are separate from payments or transactions between marketplace buyers and sellers.
If you choose to verify your student status, we may collect your .edu email address and send a verification code or other verification communication to that address.
Your verified status may be displayed on your Studenty profile. Your .edu email address itself is not publicly displayed to other users.
We retain verification information as reasonably necessary to maintain your verification status, operate the service, prevent misuse, and comply with applicable requirements.
When you contact Studenty through the Help or Contact section of the app, we may ask you to provide an email address and a description of your question, issue, or request.
We use this information to review your request, communicate with you, provide support, and resolve issues related to your account or use of Studenty.
Please avoid including sensitive personal information in support messages unless it is necessary for us to assist you.
We may use third-party services, including Sentry, to monitor errors, diagnose technical problems, evaluate performance, and improve the reliability and security of Studenty.
Depending on how these services are configured, they may process information such as device information, IP address, app activity, crash reports, diagnostic information, and related technical data.
We use this information for operational, security, troubleshooting, and product-improvement purposes.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or misuse.

If you request deletion of your account, certain account information may be retained for up to 180 days where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, preserving eligible unused listing credits, dispute resolution, enforcement, backup processes, or legal compliance before being permanently deleted or de-identified.
Some information, including transaction records relating to purchases from Studenty, support communications, or information required for legal, accounting, security, or regulatory purposes, may be retained for a longer period when reasonably necessary or required by law.
During the account-deletion retention period, deleted account information will not remain publicly accessible to other users, except where information must be retained or disclosed as permitted or required by law.
You may access or update certain account and profile information through your account settings.
You may also request deletion of your Studenty account through the available account settings.

Studenty is intended only for individuals who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly permit individuals under the age of 18 to create or use a Studenty account.
If we become aware that we have collected personal information from an individual under 18 through an unauthorized account, we will take appropriate steps to address the account and the associated personal information in accordance with applicable law.
